Letting specialized software back up or update files is always a better idea, because, unlike humans, they don't make any mistakes or forget to execute this action. If you need to keep multiple copies of the same file in different folders, you can make your work easier with Synkron's smart features. This application will synchronize any contents, between two or more folders and it will make sure they stay identical at all times.

You will notice Synkron's advantages from the moment you start downloading its small setup file. The software is cross-platform, so it works without any issues on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux platforms. Furthermore, Synkron is freeware, which means that you don't have to pay for it.

The software provides a good number of features, besides synchronizing folders. It is also possible to perform a multisync, schedule tasks, restore overwritten or deleted files, add files or folders to a blacklist or use their extensions to create filters. These actions are performed on different pages and you can switch from one to another with the aid of navigation buttons, located on the toolbar.

To synchronize two folders, you just need to select them with different browsing options. If you want to synchronize more than two folders, you may click a Plus icon to add more browsing options. Synkron lets you analyze the selected folders before synchronizing. In a few seconds, the application will display the files from all folders and it will tell you where they are present or not. It is also possible to instruct the program to avoid creating empty folders, to update only existing files and more. These settings can be made globally, but some of them can be made for individual folders as well.

The multisync feature is prepared in a similar fashion, but it involves only two browsing options. You will have to specify one or more source folders, as well as a destination folder. You may apply the same settings as before and analyze the folders before synchronizing. If you start a multisync task, the software will copy the contents from all source folders to your destination folder. When synchronizing folders, you may create additional tabs, on the same page, making it possible to set up multiple synchronization tasks. One of the most important features is the possibility of scheduling your synchronization tasks. Synkron is capable of executing one or more tasks, at a specific hour, every day or on certain dates. Alternatively, you may set it to execute your tasks every few minutes.

Pros

You can synchronize data between multiple folders or copy their files to a single location. The software makes it possible to filter data when synchronizing, add files, folders or extensions to a blacklist, schedule automatic synchronization tasks and more. The interface and its functions are easy to use, so you will not spend too much time preparing a synchronization task.

Cons

Synkron does not have any obvious drawbacks. You just need to let Synkron work in the background and it will keep your important files up to date or create backups automatically.
