Copying files from one place to another on a regular basis can be an annoying chore. Fortunately, there are many applications out there which can perform such tasks for you. An excellent solution for keeping spare copies of a large number of files is Synkron. It is capable of synchronizing two or more folders, according to various rules, which you can define yourself. The application provides many other useful features, including a scheduler and a recovery tool.

Synkron's features are presented on a user friendly interface, on separate pages, which you can access via navigation buttons, located on a toolbar. What's more, you can prepare multiple operations on the same page, on different tabs. To set up a synchronization process, it is sufficient to select two or more folders, with standard browsing options and click a button, but you can make various settings along the way.

If you wish to synchronize more than two folders, you may click a Plus icon to add another browsing option. Additionally, you can set the application to avoid creating empty folders, to update existing files only or to behave in a certain way, in each folder. Before your start the synchronization process, you can analyze the contents of the folders. The analysis is almost instantaneous and the results will tell you which files are present or not, in each folder.

The application allows you to set up a multisync operation as well, which copies data from multiple sources to a single folder. As with the standard sync, you can make a wide variety of tweaks, to prevent the application from creating empty folders or to perform other actions. All synchronization and multisync operations can be viewed in separate lists, on a single page, where they are listed together with options for starting and stopping them and for editing their parameters.

Another useful feature is the possibility of scheduling synchronization tasks. According to your settings, Synkron can execute specific jobs automatically, at certain hours, on certain days of the week, but it can also synchronize every few minutes. If you overwrite one or more files by mistake, you can search for the synchronization task by its date and undo the change. Additionally, you can set the application to avoid synchronizing those files again. It is also possible to add files, folders and extensions to a blacklist, if you don't want to synchronize them.

Pros

The application gives you the possibility of synchronizing multiple folders without any effort. It allows you to analyze folder pairs and make various tweaks. Also, Synkron can be scheduled to synchronize automatically.

Cons

The application does not present any clear design flaws or functionality gaps. While working on your computer, Synkron will keep your important files backed up and updated at all times, without requiring any user intervention.
